Software:  A programme used by a computer. Softwares are usually divided into 4 categories, according to their function: basic softwares, drivers (programmes that enable computers to interact with an hardware), firmwares (software contained internally in hardware) and application softwares (routinely used programmes).

A particular type of software is freeware, one distributed for free.
